Can we provide customers that have built all their reporting needs with the Legacy Reports with a Dashboard set of templates for an easy transition to the new DM Dashboards module? Is this something Skyline Development team can provide via Tech Support to customers with Active SLAs?
There is no migration solution for legacy Reports & dashboards to the new Dashboards. A similar question asked here sheds more light on this.
There is a concerted effort to enrich the Catalogue with dashboard packages that users can simply deploy and start using out of the box or use as a template to build thiers. See some examples here.
If there is a specific Dashboard a user would like see, my advise will be to post it here on Dojo and the community can look into providing similar packages.
Finally the Dashboards course here on Dojo is a good starting point and reference to start building with the new Dashboards. I personally find it very useful.
With all combined, this should continue to ease the transition for users.
Hi Folks, hope you´re all doing well.
Indeed, the end of legacy dashboards is forcing all customers to rebuild everything when it comes to reporting and dashboards. Its a common sense that the (not so new) Dashboards app has lots of powerful and modern features that is miles in front of the legacy ones, but for large operations, even with dedicated staff to port everything, it´s a massive job to bring all the working reports and dashboards to the web. It would be really welcome to have a tool that helped us porting everything to the web Dashboards.
Nonetheless, in the last release notes (pardon if i got that wrong) another feature seems to be discontinued soon: The reports section on the views and element cards that are automatically generated were so useful, bringing the statistics, history and so many useful info for operation administrators.
With that in mind, being able to get those information to the web dashboards would cut lots of time and tears for the administrators.
The Dashboards Template package lacks usability, covers too little compared to the reports section in cube, and misses lots of detailed timelines and statistical data to be useful for more than just monitoring the DMS / DMA enviroment.
With all that, i still believe this is the path to evolving, and the new features such as GQI, Apps, Node Edge, and so compensate the effort.
Regards
Thank you very much.
Hi Euler, Thank you for your feedback. We’ll take your view/element card use case back to the team and work to provide some guidance on the process for recreating that info in the modern webapps.
