As of Tuesday, October 10th, Windows Server 2012 R2 has officially reached its end of life, marking the conclusion of updates and support from Microsoft. At Skyline, we follow this support life cycle to determine which Windows versions are supported by DataMiner.
Rest assured, this change does not mean that your DataMiner Agents running on Windows Server 2012 R2 will suddenly cease to function, nor does it imply that you won’t receive assistance if you encounter any issues.
So, what does this mean for you? The end-of-life status signifies that we will no longer conduct testing for new features, updates, and releases on the Windows Server 2012 R2 platform. Consequently, we cannot guarantee the functionality of future updates and features on the Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system.
Why you should consider upgrading
We highly recommend migrating to a newer operating system. As Windows 2012 R2 becomes increasingly outdated, it poses a growing security risk. With Skyline no longer providing support for this OS, your system may encounter vulnerabilities that cannot be addressed through updates or hotfixes.
Don't wait until the security and functionality of your system are compromised. Take this opportunity to upgrade to a newer Windows Server version to ensure the continued smooth operation of your DataMiner Agents.
