Hi. I create a dashboard to use it on a scheduler task. But I don't want that every one could see it.
How can I do?
Thanks.
Hi Henri,
At present, the dashboard needs to be accessible to the public in order for it to be included in a scheduled email report. Nevertheless, we have intentions to revise this requirement in the future, although it currently holds a lower position on our list of priorities.
Thanks. But it’s not a lower case.
I magine I open dashboard to a client. Then I could no more use dashboard to do my own reports without showing all to my clients…
It’s like you say me : you can open dashboards to your clients OR you could have your own dashboards/reports… but not the 2 at the same time. 🙁
Indeed, this is the current situation, and we acknowledge that it’s not ideal. Consequently, we aim to make changes so that you can access templates without them being visible to all users. Once this is resolved, I’ll give you an update in this thread.
If you are referring to restricting who can view and edit this dashboard, you can do that upon creation of the dashboard by filling the Security box or if already created you can further set user access by changing dashboard settings.
We have now updated our documentation to more clearly mention this factor. See “Upload report to FTP” (https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Modules/Automation_module/Automation_script_actions/Upload_report_to_FTP.html) and “Upload report to shared folder” (https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Modules/Automation_module/Automation_script_actions/Upload_report_to_shared_folder.html) in the DataMiner documentation. If in the future this requirement is indeed revised and private dashboards can be included in scheduled email reports, the documentation will be updated on these pages as well.
