.NET 6 support in automation

Hi, are there any plans to support .NET 6 in the DataMiner Automation module?

I’m trying to create a script that is using a third-party module that is only available for .NET 6, not for the .NET framework. While the script succeeds to compile, it keeps on running into issues because certain functions are not found in libraries, etc.

Would be good if DIS gives a warning when creating a script with libraries that are not supported for certain DM versions.

Hi Michiel,

There is no conclusion on that topic yet. We’ll have extra internal conversations on that topic in the coming weeks. I’ll update your post afterwards.

Michiel, we had an internal conversation on that topic; and there was an agreement to support NET6. We will first investigate how much efforts this would represent.
