Hi Dojo,
Issue 1: In alarm console, we tried to add comment column for timeout alarm, however, we noticed that the comment box was filled with IP address. Need a guidance, why got IP address in comment column and how do we remove the IP address in the comment column?
Issue 2: can we remove this phrase "Comment added by Administrator......" ? instead just show the comment "known alarm".
Thanks, in advance.
Hello Nur,
ISSUE 1: When you have a timeout alarm in the alarm console, it will add a comment with the IP:PORT of the interface that went into timeout. This is default behavior for a timeout alarm.
ISSUE 2: When adding a comment to an alarm, it will always first indicate the user and time of the comment. I'm not aware of any configuration which would allow you to only get the comment itself displayed.
If you would like to have a column available that would only display you some text, you could do the following:
- Create a custom Alarm Property: e.g. "Alarm Comment"
- Show this property in the Alarm console.
- Click on the pencil to change the value of the Alarm property in the Alarm Row.
Note: this will only allow you to have the current value in there. There will be no history tracking which the 'Comments' do have.
Hi Nur,
The comments you add to an alarm are linked to the alarm(tree). These comments are not linked to the element. So for the moment it is not possible to tie the comment history to the elements.
Hi Stacey,
How about if the elements have intermittent timeout?
History comment won’t appear in the elements with intermittent timeout as we tested it.
Can we make the comment history tie to the elements?
Thank you.
