We're current running on feature release versions so we can use the latest SRM, when will the dependencies be added to the main release?
Philip,
As indicated in the SRM Release Notes, SRM framework is only supported with feature releases.
You can deploy it at your own risk on a main release. In the future, we plan to have 2 release tracks for SRM (one package for feature release and one package for the main release)
Be cautious with feedback you've received here, an SRM package compatible with a specific feature release 10.3.* does not necessarily mean it will be compatible with a main release 10.4.
Given that the main release 10.3.0 was released last week, I'm going to assume when you talk about "feature release versions", you mean 10.3.1 or higher. If that is the case, the features in those versions will be available in the next main release. This is 10.4.0 and will likely be released next year February 23.
To avoid confusion with “23” not pointing to the year but to the day of the month: February 23rd, 2024.
When looking at https://docs.dataminer.services/release-notes/SRM/SRM_1.2.29.html, it states that the feature release version is 10.2.7.
Does it mean this srm package is compatible with the 10.3.0 main release as the docs state it’s not compatible with the main release.
Similar as for the 1.2.30 package, but then 10.4.0 main release https://docs.dataminer.services/release-notes/SRM/SRM_1.2.30.html
As Tim mentioned, we’re running SRM 1.2.29 at the moment, which needs feature release 10.2.7 or above. We would like to run DataMiner on a main release, so if 10.3.0 has all the features in it for that version of SRM that would be ideal.
-The latest SRM at this moment is version 1.2.30. That requires DataMiner feature release version 10.3.2. Will be available from DataMiner main release version 10.4.0 onwards. That main release version is expected to be available end of February 2024.
-SRM version 1.2.29 that you’re running needs feature release 10.2.7, or DataMiner main release 10.3.0. That main release version is already available at this moment.
Thanks Laurens, that’s what I was hoping.
Thanks Emmanuel,
That’s what I was thinking from the release notes.
Our current prod cluster isn’t happy running 10.2 and above (something we need to test further), so currently stuck running SRM on a separate cluster, which isn’t ideal.
