Is there a way in Dataminer v10.2.10 to verify the Dataminer SNMP forwarder sent an alert northbound to a 3rd party application?
Is there a way to resend a single element alert northbound to a 3rd party application without having to resend every alert in the SNMP forwarder? I feel in older versions of the Dataminer software when an element was restarted, it would clear and send northbound any current alerts in the system for an element. Upon the element restarting and polling parameters would send a new alert against anything that meet alarm template thresholds. If I remember that correctly, Dataminer does not seem to function in that manner anymore.
To verify whether the DataMiner SNMP forwarder sent an alert northbound to a 3rd party application like Wireshark.
The behavior of re-send of the SNMP forwarding after restart was changed in version 8.5 to the best of my knowledge.
Thanks Simon. That would sound correct. It has been many years since I tried the method.
I discovered an alternative way by masking and un-masking the alert I wanted. It would resend the alert and be captured in Wireshark. I am sure that would work for an entire element also, but I did not try that.
