As part of our ongoing efforts to keep your DataMiner System secure and future-ready, here’s a quick but important reminder: Cassandra on Windows (versions 3.x and older) and Elasticsearch have reached End of Life.
What does that mean for you? While DataMiner still allows integration with these databases—Cassandra versions older than 4.x are End of Support, and Elasticsearch is at End of Engineering—the database software itself no longer receives security updates, bug fixes, or any other form of support by their respective providers Apache and Elastic. If your DMS is still using a local installation of Cassandra or Elasticsearch, now’s the time to plan a migration and move away from unsupported software.
This is also a great opportunity to rethink your overall storage strategy. Instead of continuing with self-managed storage, you might want to consider STaaS (Storage as a Service). It’s fast, reliable, and secure—and by offloading your storage, you free up valuable compute resources on your DataMiner Agents.
