The role of Empowerment in the process of Digital Transformation

The Skyline team started 2023 firing on all cylinders after navigating a couple of years of limited direct contact with customers because of COVID-19 restrictions. Now, as the year unfolds, Skyline is embracing a reinvigorated spirit of connection and collaboration.

In late January of this year, I had the opportunity to participate in the internal Sales Conference held at the Skyline Communications HQ in Belgium. The palpable excitement from all participants was undeniable.

Colleagues from Belgium, the United States, Canada, Australia, England, Brazil, and Germany came together to learn and connect. We enjoyed the conferences, strategic sessions, and social events, including the company’s New Year celebration. It was a true pleasure to create memories together as a team.

Weeks later, we embarked on the DataMiner Empower events, an opportunity for all DataMiner creators to connect with subject-matter experts and acquire new practical skills. Cities such as Izegem (Belgium), New York, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Singapore, London, and Mexico City were chosen to host the events, offering a range of conferences, workshops, networking opportunities, and social activities.

Participating as a presenter at Empower New York and Mexico, I was able to witness and appreciate the incredible value this event brings to our users firsthand.

Community-oriented growth

This endeavor is part of a strategic initiative to create strong DevOps teams within organizations leveraging DataMiner while simultaneously building a community of like-minded professionals together. Forming communities centered around products such as DataMiner not only generates tangible value for businesses but also offers the intangible value that members draw from the experience, making these environments genuinely unique.

Thriving communities exhibit the following key elements:

1. Shared purpose and values

The community must have a clear answer to the question, “Why are we coming together?”

2. Simple, easily accessible value consumption

Prospective and existing members can readily identify what they will receive from joining, such as support, events, documentation, access to technology, etc. This value should not be hidden or buried, but be organized and available.

3. Simple, easily navigable value creation

Members can easily create new value for others within the community to consume. This contribution process…

• is crisply defined

• is simple and intuitive

• provides almost-immediate gratification

4. Clearly defined incentives and rewards

Quality contributions (e.g. content, support, technology, etc.) and community-centric behavior (e.g. mentoring, leadership, and growth) are acknowledged and applauded, as they help build a sense of belonging, unity, and satisfaction.

5. Ownership and accountability

The community enforces a well-defined, objective peer review and workflow system. This system may include reviewing content, writing documentation, collaborating within shared code repositories, and organizing events. This structure not only yields better results but also enhances collaboration and skills development.

The epicenter of the entire DataMiner community is DataMiner Dojo. It is the place where users of all levels go to:

The DataMiner DevOps Professional Program is designed for any individual or group seeking to master DataMiner as a DevOps tool, to create value and accelerate their business. And the most exciting part of this program is that it is entirely FREE.

Organizations that want to invest in their internal DevOps team can opt for the DataMiner DevOps Enablement Service, a premium, care-free, managed service package tailored to your specific needs to establish a productive DataMiner DevOps squad in-house.

Why empowering DevOps teams in your organization is crucial for advancing in Digital Transformation

In this ever-evolving landscape of technological transformation, predicting what new technology will disrupt the market in the next 3 to 5 years is more complex than ever. Many companies choose DataMiner because they know that whatever happens, DataMiner will adapt to those changes.

DataMiner stands out as the most future-proof, cost-efficient, vendor-agnostic DevOps software platform for all your monitoring and orchestration needs.

The role of the internal DevOps team is more important than ever in using DataMiner to satisfy each organization’s unique needs. No one understands the intricacies of your operation better than the DevOps team responsible for running the operation every single day.

Investing in training for your engineering team is a winning strategy that ensures rapid results and generates significant value. With the local team’s deep understanding of the challenges, they can immediately put the acquired DataMiner tools to good use.

Moreover, the human element plays an essential role in the process of Digital Transformation. By training internal human resources in the incoming technologies, organizations can count on a team of individuals who see themselves as part of the creative process and are thus more motivated to succeed.

Role of the Customer Success Manager as a key enabler and customer advocate

The mission of the Customer Success Manager (CSM) is to ensure users generate the most value for their organizations using their DataMiner Systems.

CSM professionals actively engage with clients from the initial engagement stage (onboarding) and continue their involvement throughout the entire value delivery cycle. They focus on empowering and inspiring people, unleashing the creative potential in every organization and achieving compounded results.

Internally, the CSM works with different teams within Skyline to ensure the customer’s voice is heard and acted upon.

At Skyline Communications, we are committed to helping organizations succeed in their journey by providing the necessary resources and support, ensuring that their unique needs can be met and they can continue to thrive in the rapidly changing technological landscape. The first half of this year has been truly exciting, and I look forward to seeing what the upcoming months have in store.

Digital Transformation is a continuous process. While technology is a catalyst for change, it is the people who determine the success of digital initiatives.
