What’s the difference between “Cumulative Update” and “Full Upgrade”

When I would like to upgrade to DataMiner (10.0.0.0-9742-CU8) from DataMiner (10.0.0.0-9449-CU5), which software(the following two software) should I use?
1. DataMiner 10.0.0.0-9742 Full Upgrade.dmupgrade
2. DataMiner 10.0.0.0-9742 Cumulative Update CU8.dmupgrade
Is whichever fine in this case?

In this case, both are indeed fine.

You can always use the full upgrade, as this contains everything. But here in your case, you are already on v10.0.0 and you only want to upgrade to a later CU. If that’s the case, you only want to increase the CU, then you can also use the Cumulative Update package. This package is typically a bit smaller and might be a bit faster to apply the upgrade.
