As described in the documentation, changing the agent name in Cube requires a server reboot since the name of the server is updated as well. You also have the possibility to configure an alias in DataMiner.xml. The docs does not mention any additional steps to take.

If the agent is running a permanent license, changing the agent name does not break the license.
Changing the agent name of a temporary license requires an updated license however (for which you can reach out to dataminer.licensing@skyline.be).
