Hi,
I know it is possible to generate shapes automatically in visio designs and for instance show all elements within a view however I wondered if there is a simple way to do this in a recursive way (i.e. All elements within the current view and any sub-views). I would guess that I will need to first generate children to each represent the views and then subsequently draw children within those but wondered if there is a simpler way before I go down that road 🙂
Many thanks
Oliver
Within the ChildrenOptions shape data, you can specify the value Recursive.
More info here.
Hi Oliver,
It depends on how you want it to look exactly. If you want shapes for all elements in the view and subviews and do not care how they are positioned, you can use the "Recursive" option in the childrenoptions shape data field.
If you want the shapes to be grouped per subview, you will need to create a nested structure of views with element shapes within.
Hi Oliver, in addition you can find an example Visio on our ziine.skyline.be DMA, containing many of the Visio concepts, including Children panels.
You can find it on the Visual Overview Design Examples view.
