Upgrade – What does the update users step really does?

During the upgrade process, there's a step, step 17, labeled "Step 17/33: Update Users."

From what I understand, this step is defined in the UpdateContent.txt file. However, I don't quite get what actually happens during this step.

Does it involve updating the security.xml file or the sync info file? If so, what is this update based on?

Hi Catarina,

The step is very straightforward. According to the Upgrade docs Any step starting with Update [x] will simply copy over the contents of the folder [x] from the upgradepackage to the folder wih the same name in 'C:\skyline dataminer'.

Any files it copies will be reported with the following event "Updated '<filename>'".

As you can see there is no involvement of the Security.xml or SyncInfo file. In the case of the User-folder, it seems this folder is currently not present in the UpgradePackage, meaning for the time being Step 17 does nothing.
