Is Unicode supported in SNMP protocols? I am experiencing some issues with an SNMP protocol when attempting to set a device’s OID ( string value for a name ) with a Unicode value.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

Nice to meet you!

Unicode is not supported by default but can typically be enabled on the connector level (see options attribute | DataMiner Docs). Do know this has a significant impact and therefore we typically require a major version change for this.

Specify this option if the protocol is a Unicode protocol. Protocols of this type support Unicode languages like Chinese, Arabic, etc. If you turn an existing protocol of type “ascii” into a protocol of type “unicode”, then all existing data will be lost.

Kind Regards,
Jarno
