STaaS – How will database backup/restore work

Hi Dojo,

Once my Agent is configured with STaaS, will it still be possible to backup/restore the databases?
If so, will the database files be part of the backup package or will there be another structure?

Hi Jens,

The DataMiner STaaS offering is using cloud native storage solutions built on top of the Microsoft Azure Storage Services. You don’t have to worry anymore about backups or restores. Everything is taken care of for you.

If you would have deleted something by mistake, you need to open a support ticket to get your data back.

The only option you will have, is choosing a location for your data, and if you optionally want to have geo redundancy. More details will follow when these options become available.

What would be the steps to move a DM that is using STaaS to new hardware for example?
Would restoring a backup (without DB obviously) make the new DMA use the data of the old DMA?
