Split backup files in per agent

Hello,

I have noticed that two backup files are created for each backup schedule per agent. Ideally, I expect to see only one backup file at the end of a successful backup. When I perform manual backups, I only see one backup file created after the successful completion.

Could you please clarify why there are two backup files generated per agent in a backup schedule? Thank you.

Hi Jey

The idea is that failover agents are in sync, always. Then why would we need a backup of both the online and offline agent?
For whatever reason, issues happen causing them to go out of sync. Then having a backup of both the online and offline agent might save the day.

=> So a scheduled backup will create a backup of both online and offline agent.

Then why is a backup taken only of the online agent when manually triggering the backup? I would say the logical explanation would be, that you want to save the system the way you see/experience it now => hence backup of the online agent only.

I hope this helps 🙂
