Hello,
As part of a project to integrate a new matrix for one of our customers, we would like to duplicate the application on one of our test DMAs.
This is to prepare for the integration of the matrix. We have the constraint of not being able to touch the matrix currently in production. If this is possible, what would be the best practice?
This application is currently installed on a DMA version 9.3. What would be the impact if we wanted to migrate to a new version of the DMA? Will the application still be compatible?
As this question has now been inactive for a long time, I will close it. If you still want more information about this, could you post a new question?
Hi Johan,
Are you on a Cassandra DB?
If planning an upgrade from 9 to 10.x, check for ports that became mandatory (such as NATS config).
These are some of the steps that come to mind:
1. checking the connector/driver in use and if it is supported in the newer release.
from there, check the step to get this installed on the test-DMA
2. Recommending a more recent release of DM - if the driver is still compatible, it should be as easy as just creating a new test element or export the source element in a .dmimport package.
3. With the matrix being in production, you'll want to define the steps that can help minimizing risks in your own environment... something like minimizing dual polling windows from old & new DM, start with read-only from the test environment... (but not limited to ... this really depends on local knowledge of your set-up, so best checked with your TAM)
