Hi All,

We are trying to use alerter for a specific element, and use an alarm filter, i have applied the alarm filter to each user and selected alerter, however this doesn't work until a user has gone into alerter and configured the clientside severity filter.

Is this how it is expected to work? or should it work from the configured alarm filter?

Thanks

Hi Ryan,

This is indeed how it works. The alarmfilter will determine what alarms are send to SLAlerter, while the clientside severity filter will determine when the balloon is shown.

Hi Michael, Ok no worries, is there a way to configure that on a user/group level, or does it need to be done on the users client machine, as these are shared clients, is the config saved on the server or the client machine?

Hi Ryan,

Unfortunately it is not possible to configure this on a grouplevel. The users need to configure this in SLAlerter itself. The settings of SLAlerter are saved both on the client machine and on the server (in case the user switches from client machine he can still uses his). This is done for each user separately (so several users can have their own settings on the same client machine).
