Hi Dojo, quick follow-up from this older post:

https://community.dataminer.services/question/default-severity-colours-are-these-still-the-same-across-all-versions/

Was there any change in the severity palette for DataMiner 10.2?

I’m comparing the values found on the DMA in DataMiner.xml with the default ones from 9.6.4 & newer, but most of them don’t match: even the green “normal” seems defined in a different combination

Hi Alberto,

There was no change in the default colors in 10.2.

Also, the color settings in the DataMiner.xml are not overwritten on an upgrade, as this is a custom configuration that can be made by the user. The default colors are used if there is no definition for colors in the DataMiner.xml file. otherwise, the colors defined in the DataMiner.xml are used by the DMA.

At first sight, this looks like a configuration that was created based on the pre-9.6.4 color scheme, with some changes for the normal and major colors.

Thanks for your feedback, Michiel – much appreciated.
Would there be any recommended way to keep these options in sync across a cluster? Asking as this section is on each DataMiner.xml – when I update one, will the new palette be applied to all the agents?

Michiel Vanthuyne [SLC] [DevOps Enabler] commented 13th December 2022

Hi Alberto, I’m not 100% sure on this one, but I think it’s not automatically synced since the DataMiner.xml also contains information that is specific per DMA, such as the DMA id. To apply it on all DMA’s in a DMS I think it’s best to copy the tag to each DataMiner.xml file on each DMA.
