Dear Dojo,

Do you know how, with service template, I can hide an alarm at service level if the alarm is acknowledged by an operator.

My goal is to keep green the Service and the icone into the surveyor and the Service Visual Overview if the alarm is taken into account.

Thanks for your help if you know how to do that

Simon

Hi Simon,
If your goal is to keep the alarm at service level with a normal severity (green), is it not an option to mask the alarm?

Simon Nenez [DevOps Advocate] commented 10th September 2024

Hi Miguel,
I think that these 2 methods have to be test on my side

Method one : if an alarm is own (acknowledged), keep it at the service level but with a normal severity

Method two : If an alarm is own (acknowledged) mask it

If you can explain me how to do both. I will do some tests to find the better solution for our needs

Hi Simon,

I will try to go for the second approach, since the first one will be more complex. For the second method you will need to trigger an automation script that will mask the element related to the alarm. There is no default method to mask an alarm. However, if this is required, there is a snippet that can be used for this purpose (see this question).

In addition, keep in mind that you can implement conditions in the service to include an element. If you know in advance the values that will trigger an alarm, you could use them to define the conditions in the service.

Hope it helps.
