Service Template – Child View Order

Is there anyway to dictate in a service template that one child is to be displayed on top of the other in the surveyor view?  From what I can see it only displays in alphabetical order, not by any other.

I have an Encoder and Decoder alias in a service and I want the Encoder to be on top as it’s the logical first element, but because ‘D’ is before ‘E’ it’s the opposite way to what I’d want displayed.

James.

Hi James,

As far as I know Surveyor will always display alphabetically.

Two options:

1 – Add a numerical before the Alias Name (1-Decoder, 2-Encoder, 3-Monitor, etc.) for your workflow.

2 – Create a Visio displaying the workflow, with the required parameters (or popup page to show element parameters), for the service, which is assigned by the service template, so the users do not need to use Surveyor.
