Is it possible to make a backup of a "Service template" without the services (child elements).
The backup should be as if no services are generated by this template.
When performing the export (export to DataMiner package) it is not possible to deselect the "protocols and templates" .

Exporting a service template via Actions > Export > .dmimport package will indeed also export all of the generated services and involved elements as well. I'm afraid there's no option available to avoid that.
A possible workaround to export the service template configuration only would be to first duplicate the service template and then export that duplicated template (that doesn't have any generated services).
