Hi Dojo,
Our Cyber Security team would like to install and run some Security Software on the DataMiner Agents - I was wondering if there is any previous knowledge of possible configurations for application needed for vulnerability management.
I've found some generic info in this dojo post, so I'm led to think that if a security application cannot whitelist all of the DMs files, then it should not be installed:
https://community.dataminer.services/question/what-happens-if-dm-files-folders-arent-whitelisted-in-the-antivirus-program/?hilite=%27antivirus%27
Is there anyone in the dojo community who has already tested some applications for Threats and Vulnerability management? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Hi Alberto,
Also see this page regarding antivirus software. If DataMiner cannot be whitelisted an antivirus may try to inject its own .dll files into the DataMiner processes and by continuously scanning the DataMiner database(s) it will likely also reduce the performance of your DataMiner system. It's indeed highly recommended to whitelist DataMiner (and its databases).
Internally we typically only run the built-in Windows Defender on our DataMiner servers. We don't actively test other antivirus solutions.
However, if you would enable a threat & vulnerability management solution, we would be happy to hear about potential problems it may cause in DataMiner.
