Hi,

Our infra was infected by malware. We had our backups. I am gonna reinstall them from scratch.

Kindly let me know the steps to be followed inline. From installation till restoring the backup.

Regrads,

Ashwini.

Hi Ashwini,

To Restore a DMA using the DataMiner Taskbar Utility, you can run the following steps:

  1. Make sure the DMA is prepared for the restoration. See Preparing the destination server for a DMA restoration.
  2. In the Windows taskbar, right-click the DataMiner Taskbar Utility icon and click Maintenance > Restore.
  3. In the restore window, click the … button to select a backup package.

A description of the contents of the package will appear under Description.

  4. Click Restore to start restoring the DMA.

In the restore window, the different steps of the restoration process will be displayed.

  5. When the restoration is complete, click Finished.

Hi Ashwini,
You can find detailed installation information here: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/DataMiner_Agents/Installing_a_DMA/Installing_DM_using_the_DM_Installer.html

For the restoration, you can find detailed information here: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/DataMiner_Agents/Restoring_a_DataMiner_Agent.html

An important detail is that the server you restore the backup to will need to run exactly the same DataMiner software version as the original server, so make sure you upgrade to the right version before you try to restore the DMA.

For the Elasticsearch database, you can find the restoration information here: https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/Databases/Elasticsearch_database/Configuring_Elasticsearch_backups.html
