Recycle bin – restoring of service template in cluster

When restoring a service.xml file of a service template (and in extension also of a normal service) on a single DMA, it's fairly easy to replace the file and to restart DataMiner.

In a cluster however there's also the RemoteServices folder on the other servers that contains the same service.xml file.

Is there a way to restore the service.xml file in all locations on the cluster without having to go on all servers manually?

Hi Jeroen, did you already try to synchronize the file in the DMS via

  • System Center > Tools > Synchronization (refer Help)
  • SLNetClientTest tool > Forcing file synchronization between DMAs (refer Help)

That should indeed do the trick:
– put the service.xml file back
– force synchronize the file (“c:skyline dataminerservicesxxxxservice.xml”) => file should get synchronized to the RemoteServices folder on the remote agents.

After testing I can confirm it synchronizes the files correctly, but it does not restore the data in Cube. Reloading Cube also doesn’t help.

It requires a restart of DataMiner to load the data from the file and update the configurations visible in Cube.
