ReAdd existing domain user

Solved594 views6th February 2023

Hi.
When a domain user is manually deleted the user is greyed. Is it because only the reference is removed as explained in the help?

Help extract:

  • When you delete a manually added domain user, only the reference to that user will be removed from the DataMiner System.

If I want to readd this user, how can I proceed? Is it possible to completely remove this user to restart the process as a new user?

Thank you

Hi Yvan,

There are three types of users you can find in your DataMiner system:

  1. Local users: manually added and entirely managed by DataMiner
-> Blue user icon without circle
  2. Manually added domain users: single domain user was added to DataMiner, the username & password are managed by the domain.
-> Blue user icon with a circle
  3. Automatically added domain users: added to DataMiner because the user is part of a domain group that's added in DataMiner.
-> Grey user icon with a circle

Grey users can't be removed, because they are added to the system automatically because they are part of a domain group that has been granted access to the system.

If you don't want to have all users from a specific domain group in DataMiner, you'll need to remove the domain group from the system and add the individual domain users.
