For a customer who seeks to use DataMiner dashboards for sharing network/application status info with their customers, users of private mobile networks, and seeks to automate the dashboard creation, I would appreciate to learn what is available today here already or if not yet, if their is plans already or not really?

Hi Dom – could you clarify what you mean exactly by “automating the dashboard creation”? Are you referring to executing code that build an entire dashboard, that could essentially be any type of dashboard? Or you more talking about a user case where you have some sort of pre-defined dashboard in mind, but you want to re-use that to share with different users (i.e. all users get more or less the same dashboard, in terms of layout and metrics, with the caveat that it has to pertain to data from their services? Or are you referring to sharing the dashboard in an automated fashion (rather than manually going to the option to share the dashboard with a specific user)?

Hi Ben, the use case is the 2nd one. Our prospect customer that operates virtual private networks on airports, seaports and industrial facilities seeking to automate not only the provisioning in DataMiner of the different components that make up such network, but also the creation of the associated (templated) dashboards and maybe even the share as targeted to provide the users visibility on the status of their network and services as rely on it.

Running maybe 20 of these networks already and targeting 50 within 2024, they are seeking to automate as much as possible the provisioning of their customer systems in DataMiner and the creation of the dashboards as are core to their offer.

Hi Dominique,

Creating dashboards is a part of our internal API, and it should exclusively serve the Dashboards app. This API is in a constant state of evolution and change.

We’ve introduced feeds tailored to your needs. Instead of crafting 50 identical dashboards, differing only in data sources, you can now create a single dashboard that utilizes a feed. This feed can be shared across all dashboard components, ensuring that information from a particular data source is displayed consistently.

The catalog could also be used to provision an initial dashboard which could then be altered based on the user his needs.
