We have a Dell Windows server. It uses the driver 'Microsoft Platform SNMP'. Within that driver, we have the snmp.exe process and would like to be alerted when this process stops. Obviously, if the snmp.exe process stops or unloads, thenthe element would go into timeout.
This is an initial question to gauge thoughts.
Thanks
Hi Ken,
Is there a specific reason why your are using the 'Microsoft Platform SNMP' connector and not Microsoft Platform? This connector also monitors DELL parameters:
If I am not mistaken the snmp process is related to the SNMP Service available in the Services:
You could monitor this service through the 'Service List' table using the 'Microsoft Platform' connector:
Hope it helps.
Hi.. Thanks for your input. The Microsoft Platform SNMP driver and/or the DNMA_SDLCGATEWAYEXCEPTIONS alarm templates do not present any options to generate an alarm if a particular service should go from ‘Running/Active’ to stopped or Paused etc. This is what we are trying to achieve
