Hi all,

Does the Mobile Gateway still work when you are fully connected to the cloud?

Meaning we do not have the server onsite.

Hi Zean – do you mean that you are running your DataMiner System in the cloud, and you wonder if you can still use a mobile gateway under those circumstances? Or did you mean to ask about something else?

Hi Ben,

Yes I wanted to know if I could still use it while everything is hosted in the cloud.

Ben Vandenberghe also replied and gave me the info that was needed.

Hi Zean,

If you run your DMS in the cloud, it is possible to make a site-2-site connection to your on-prem network. If you have an IP-based mobile gateway in your on-prem network, the DMS hosted in the cloud can still connect to that on-prem mobile gateway over that site-2-site and use it to send text messages. So, this way it is still possible to use the mobile gateway when running in the cloud.
