We are currently experiencing delays in the update times for the Cavena STU and Cavena S-MUX application process on the (Microsoft Platform driver) task manager page. To improve this, we would like to propose reducing the polling time from 20 minutes to 5 minutes. However, we understand that the Microsoft platform does not offer a configurable polling time. Therefore, any change in polling frequency would require adjustments in the code.
Before proceeding, we would like to understand the potential impact of reducing the polling time drastically from 20 minutes to 5 minutes. Specifically, we are concerned about the following:
- Impact on system performance: Would a 5-minute polling interval create a strain on resources or affect the performance of the Cavena STU or S-MUX applications?
- Alternative solutions: Is there any other approach we could follow to achieve better update times for the Cavena STU and S-MUX applications without significantly altering the polling time or risking performance issues?
We would greatly appreciate your insights and any recommendations you may have.
Hi Srimathi,
I had a look at the connector and the task manager is polled every 10 seconds (in average). Please could you provide us more details about the delay that you are experiencing:
- Maybe a specific column in the task manager is not updated frequently?
- Are you using nominal values, or cumulated memory?
- Do you have a trend template assigned to this element, and if so, did you enable the real-time trending?
Thanks!
