Masking a service rather than an element

Hi Dojo,

We are using Appear Broadcast Gateways for some incoming IP services. The services are monitored and DataMiner generates alarms for missing services and passes them to the Netcool system. We have built a couple of test services on one of the Broadcast Gateways and because it’s a test service there are periods when the services are not there or in apparent fault conditions and these generate alarms. There get picked up by Netcool and generate bogus fault tickets.

I’m trying to find a way to block alarms for those specific services and no others. I can mask an element but the entire gateway is a single element. I can mask alarms when they are generated but they need to be there for me to mask them. What I cant find is a way to block all alarms for those two specific services.
Can you please share your thoughts on how I can achieve this ? Thank you.

Hi Arunkrishna,

Is it an option to update your SNMP manager, so alarms, where the service impact contains specific services, are not forwarded?

eg.
