Manually adding Cisco Switch Port on element

Hi Dojo,

We are trying to add a port in the element we have for our Cisco Switch to monitor a specific port (Gi5/17). We assumed that it automatically pulled SNMP from the cisco and would recognise that port Gi5/17 with a bitrate and would be displayed in the element for RX and TX but it isn’t displaying it as shown below;

Is there a way of manually adding the port to the element or is there an SNMP setting we have to activate or restart for it to automatically detect and display the specific port?

Regards,

Hugo

What connector are you using ?

Hugo Landrey commented 15th February 2024

Hi, are you referring the connection from the dataminer to the switch?

Miguel Obregon [SLC] [DevOps Catalyst] commented 15th February 2024

Hi Hugo,
Wale is referring to the driver that you are using to monitor the Cisco switch.

Wale Oguntoyinbo [SLC] [DevOps Advocate] commented 15th February 2024

I am refering to the dataminer driver (protocol) that your element is using.

There is a ‘Measurement Configuration’ page that lists all detected interfaces. On this page you can enable or disable the monitoring of interfaces. Enabling an interface will make it available for monitoring and be dispalyed on the Rx / Tx tables.  You can find more details in the Cisco Manager driver help page
