Hi Team,
I noticed that my account is unable to log in, displaying the error shown in the image below (AFTER).
Initially, it was working fine (BEFORE).
Can you assist with this issue? Initially, I had a similar incident and had to uninstall and reinstall the application. However, I would prefer not to do that again this time. Each time I restart the server, this error appears, preventing access to the login.
Thanks.
Hi,
Can you check the security.xml file in C:\Skyline DataMiner and see if any user is still visible there?
You should still be able to logon with users that are in that file. Can you try that?
If none are shown, I'm afraid a reinstall of DataMiner will be necessary.
It's not possible to just add a user in the security.xml file however, as this would be a big security risk.
If you would need to do a fresh DataMiner install, please do the following:
- create 2 local users, one for the installation and one as backup.
- Login with the installation user
- Install DataMiner like you did previously
- Once installed, add the local admin and 2nd user you created in DataMiner and give them admin rights (very important, as otherwise your user can't do anything)
- After adding, take a backup of security.xml from C:\Skyline DataMiner folder just in case
- Upgrade your system to the preferred version
Note that the issue is resolved from 10.4.0 CU4 / 10.4.7
Hi Thibault,
Thanks for the info. Indeed, it is a known issue.
I have tried all scenarios by logging in using local admin access, yet I am still not able to log in.
In fact, if requires being uninstalled and installed again, which I don't want to do again since I have already done it in previous attempts. Possible, it might fails again.
My question is whether the team can create a base file to point to the user access with credentials as a workaround.
Thanks
Hi,
This is an issue that was already seen in the past. Could it be you're installing the software with your domain user?
We have seen cases that after a restart the user is removed, however, logging in with the local administrator account should still be possible.
Can you check if you can do it and add your user again? This should only happen once and not reoccur.
Kind regards,
