Logical or in quick filter?

Is there a way to perform a logical OR in the quick filter in the alarm console?

If I enter two words, it seems like it performs a logical AND.

Hi Jan-Terje,

It is not possible to use a logical OR operation in the quick filter of the alarmconsole. If you want to use a logical OR operation you can achieve this by creating a new tabpage in the alarmconsole and use an alarmfilter.

Thanks for the reply.
Has this changed over time? I might be wrong, but I seem to remember this was possible in an earlier release? We are running version 10.0 now.

This has not changed over time. The logical And has always been used when you added two or more searchterms in the filterbox.

Totally off topic, but I can’t help it as it is a great feature and not everybody knows it: if you hold the CTRL key while hovering your mouse pointer across the Alarm Console, you will see that strings are highlighted, and you can click one or multiple ones to start filtering down the list of alarms.  You can also click a highlighted word to remove it again from the filter.

I’m aware of this feature, and you’ll be glad to hear our NOC users are using it quite frequently 🙂
