Logging – Can I clean the content of the genif folder?

Hi Dojo,

I noticed that the genif log folder contains more than 16GB on my system.

  1. What's the purpose of this folder?
  2. Is it safe to remove the content manually?
  3. Is DataMiner cleaning up the content automatically? If so, can the max size be configured?

Hi Jens,

  1. The GenIf folder contains the logging for GQI queries (the previous abbreviation of the Generic Query Interface was GenIf). It contains all requested data for an executed query and allows development to replay the query on another machine without having access to the particular DMA. This folder is only created manually upon a request from development and should be removed when it's no longer required.
  2. The folder can be safely removed without any consequences.
  3. Not yet, we have an open task on our backlog to limit the size of this folder.
