Is it possible to have proxy servers to relay info from Google Maps in DataMiner?
Alternatively, is this something always possible when DataMiner can connect to internet or is cloud-connected?
Keen to understand what are the options to stay within what's supported by the architecture roadmap.
Thanks
If the client pc's (used to open Cube or web pages) have Internet access, then you can use Google Maps or OpenStreetMap within DataMiner Maps. Internet access is not required on the DMA server for this.
Without Internet access on the client devices, you could try to proxy/relay the requests (might be complicated since Google has lots of domain names and IP addresses), but I think the best solution is to set-up an offline maps server.
Thanks for your input, Wim
Much appreciated – thinking about google maps also in the context of a different use case, where maps from a server could replace the static visio background of a Visual overview.
Pretty much this kind of context: https://community.dataminer.services/question/automatic-shape-drawing/answer/74946/
But for the time being, marking this as solved
