Hi Dojo,
Are there any tips for rehoming DMAs onto a new IT domain and minimise DataMiner down-time?
Evaluating this in the context of a wider technology transformation.
This would be more of an infrastructure concern, but keen to collect input from any admins who may have faced a similar scenario.
Thanks in advance
Hi Alberto,
Thank you for your question!
I recommend opening a consultancy ticket for this.
As such, we can assess the situation on your specific system as opposed to a more generic, more risky approach.
This is usually preferable, since, depending on the setup and the specific needs of the moving of the DMAs to a new domain, there are many factors to consider.
Here are a few off the top of my head:
- IP addresses need to be moved
- Ports need to be checked again
- Custom NATS setups need to be adapted
- Connection URIs may need adapting
- User provisioning and management/auth need to be considered
- Databases need to be made reachable from that subnet
- DataMiner config files need to be adapted
- ...
This is by no means a complete list.
Because of the involved complexity I recommend you contact DataMiner support, so we can have a look at what is required.
