We have an environment with a cluster of 2 DMAs in active/active state.
In the CI Type>Provisioning we can select the DMA or leave it on "Based on device address".
Is there a way to do a load balancing of elements between the 2 DMAs so we dont saturate the performance of only one DMA?
Can this load balancing be automated?
Hi
I believe the Swarming functionality is what you are looking for. This will enable you to swarm elements from one DataMiner agent to another. The automation to detect spare capacity will be something that you will need to take care of.
Note that this functionality is still under development as of now.
Cassandra Cluster or STaaS will indeed be mandatory for Swarming.
The first release can be expected later this year and will be restricted to ‘basic’ elements.
Excluded from ‘basic’ elements are: spectrum elements, elements generating DVEs or functions, elements part of a Redundancy Group, Service elements (elements of enhanced services), elements with element connections configured, aggregation elements (hidden element supporting aggregation rules), element managers (EPM), SLA elements and elements polling ‘localhost’, ‘127.0.01’.
The team is currently focusing on ensuring that AlarmTrees are unique within the cluster context. This task is extensive, involving adjustments across numerous areas due to the pervasive use of alarm IDs. Completion of this development is estimated to span a couple of months.
Hi,
We are very impatient to discover that functionnality too !
The Cassandra database cluster will be mandatory for that right ?
Waiting this feature we will work on the cassandra cluster deployment !
