Which protocols do I need to install and which configuration needs to be done to enable sFlow monitoring on my system?
To start processing sFlow samples, you'll first need to add DataMiner as a collector in the capable products.
For example if you want DataMiner to process sFlow samples from your Arista switches, then these need to be configured to send the sFlow datagrams to DataMiner. This can be done using the Arista Manager driver in case these elements are already created in your DataMiner system. More details are available in the help of the Arista Manager.
To actually start processing the sFlow datagrams, you will need the following protocols:
The Generic sFlow Collector element will listen to any incoming sFlow datagram on port 6343. Note that this port will need to be opened in the firewall to be able to capture these packets. As of now, only sFlow samples are processed (with filtering capabilities). Interface counters are (not yet) supported.
The Generic sFlow Manager protocol is used to "manage" the different Generic sFlow Collector elements in your DataMiner system and which agents (product sending sFlow datagrams) are handled by which collector. Note that only 1 collector element can be installed per DataMiner Agent.
The Generic sFlow Manager element is also the source to actually query what data is being received. This can be requested ad hoc or on a fixed interval (persistent). More details about the different available configurations in the Generic sFlow Manager can be found in the help.
