How can I add Japanese characters to the ANNOTATIONS page in service/element/view ?

Hi,

I'm trying to add Japanese double byte characters to the ANNOTATIONS page in service/element/view, however, those characters are immediately garbled once I save the page.

My DMA is running on Japanese Windows10, and the client is also Japanese Windows10.

Server version : 10.0.0.0-9449
Client version : 10.1.2049.148

Could anyone tell me how to make it work ?

Hi Mahito,

This appears to be a known issue. While the annotations editor supports the characters, the content ends up getting saved with an incorrect encoding on the server.

Unfortunately, no fix is currently available.

Thank you for the answer.

Just curiosity, why the issue is still unfixed is because of any technical reasons, or there is no demand for the fix from the existing customers ?

I’m not saying there is a strong demand as of now, but I wondered how much realistically I can expect the feature support in the future.

Can it be fixed if there is a requirement as part of real project ?

Hi Mahito,
I don’t believe there are technical reasons involved here. If there is a project requirement, I’m sure this can be fixed.
