We need to make some network changes to our Dataminer agents by adding a second NIC. Is it possible to generate a new request.lic file while the agent is running in order to avoid a double restart and delay waiting for the new license to be generated?
As this question has now been inactive for a long time, I will close it. If you still want more information about this, could you post a new question?
Dear Petro,
The formal process would be the following:
- Add NIC
- Restart DMA
- Share newly generated request.lic with Skyline
- Skyline will update license and provide new license file
- Replace old license file with the received new one in the Skyline DataMiner folder
- Restart DMA to apply the license
This is the preferred way of working, but perhaps steps 2 and 3 can be avoided if you can share the exact MACs that will be added, and we in Skyline can update the license manually. This is of course prone to errors because we need to manually update the license, therefore the process above is preferred because it's automated.
If you would like to to try this second approach, I would suggest you contact our licensing team, via dataminer.licensing@skyline.be .
Hope this can help you,
Jon
