Checking the DataMiner Help (Advanced Failover Configuration), I have the following UI where I can edit the virtual IP addresses assigned to the corporate and acquisition networks:
However, as you can see in the screenshot above, I am able to see extra network interfaces. One of these network interfaces is used to configure the inverted heartbeats.
When selecting one of these extra network interfaces (e.g. 'Switch' or 'External in the screenshot above), I am able to set the virtual IP address/mask. Is it required (or recommended) to set the virtual IP address for these extra network cards?

It's not required from a DataMiner perspective to set a virtual IP for all interfaces.
Whether you choose to enable a virtual IP, really depends on your requirement to have a single IP pointing to the active agent for a given network.
