Hello,

Why is there a mismatch in the number of elements in the element migration window as compared to system center --> Status window? Thank you.

Hi Arunkrishna,

- The status window does show all elements of an agent that are hosted by that agent.
- The migration does show those elements of an agent, but with the following filters:
1. User has permissions to access elements and edit elements
2. On each element, check on user edit configuration of that element
3. On each element, following migrate conditions must be met:
- Element is not a spectrum element
- Element is not an SLA element
- Element is not a DVE element
- Element is not a derived element (Redundancy groups)
(technical note: these are the DELT restrictions that were implemented few years ago)

I assume that the agent has a lot of DVE elements, hence the great difference between counts.

Hope this helps you further

Hi Matthias. That makes perfect sense, there’s a lot of DVE elements on this agent. BTW, could you tell me how to determine the maximum number of elements a DMA can host? Thanks.

Matthias Declerck [SLC] [DevOps Advocate] commented 15th November 2022

Hi Adam, you can check this by clicking on your user account (top right corner in DataMiner Cube), then press the About button.
The about window will open and the info you need can be found on the last tabpage ‘License’.
There you can check your licensed option, which tells you the maximum amount of elements that can be hosted on the agents.
Furthermore, you check the amount of elements the agents currently have.
This can be found also in that tabpage, in the section ‘Used licensed counters’

Example: “Total Elements: 1231 (of which 1089 standard, 141 DVE, 2 spectrum) / 2500”

Hope this helps you further
