We recently acquired new Cisco DCMs which are virtual server based, unlike in the past these are not physical devices. Thus, HTTPS and Rest API is supported instead of SNMP.
Does the latest version(1.0.3.38) of the Cisco DCM protocol support virtual DCMs? If not, please recommended an appropriate driver.
Hi,
Connector Cisco DCM does not use SNMP for communication (only to receive traps), it use IIOP protocol which is still present on vDCM software.
So, you can use Cisco DCM connector to monitor and configure vDCM software, information like Transport Streams, Services, etc. are present there.
Though if you need to monitor or configure specific things that are only available through the new HTTP interface, a new connector will need to be developed. I'm not familiar with the new HTTP interface, so I don't know which kind of information it provides.
Hi Christine,
I found a Cisco vDCM connector in the catalog (https://catalog.dataminer.services/result/driver/5753) but it looks that a first release of this connector is not yet available. Maybe you can have a look to it.
