Does Dataminer have OOB functionality to broadcast or define a message or MOTD for users either before or after they connect/login to the DMS? It would be similar to a Message of the Day(MOTD) that network devices normally have. This transparency at login is important, it gives users immediate feedback before they continue work they have planned within Dataminer.
Use Case 1:
User logs into the DMS and is prompted with a message automatically regarding maintenance that is underway and to expect possible interruptions for a few hours.
Use Case 2:
Maintenance is about to begin and the user performing the work wants to broadcast the same message from Use Case 1 to all users currently logged in.
Use Case 3:
STG/QA environment is currently going through a rigorous spot check and testing. Any user logging into the system needs to be aware that the system should not be used at this time until release by the team doing the work.
Use Case 4:
Customer wants to have a legal disclosure that indicates they are accessing a system owned by them and access is monitored, etc.
Just wanted to re-air this comment and see if their might be any new solutions possible for the use case mentioned above?
The current landing screen provides these sections: I'd check if your MOTD could come in as data feeds that can be embedded in a similar way?
E.g. operators can be notified that 2 new drivers are available - your use cases are more specific though
PS: This was just meant to be a picture in a comment – not really an answer

Let’s see what other members advise
I like your idea, let’s see if there are any alternatives and go from there. Ideally I would like to present it before they login but in your example might be an alternative to showcase the message afterwards. I will look into the data feeds a bit more, I have never leveraged them in any of my prior solutions.
Glad it helped – depending on the nature of the message, e.g. announcing a maintenance on a given application, it might be better placed after log-in, so that
a) you’re sure no info is shared with non authenticated users;
b) you could actually tune a different message for a different group of users later
Potentially, could a bespoke protocol embed messages coming from other tools or RSS feeds and place them on the landing page?
Or something similar to a DataMiner APP (e.g. similar to Ticketing, Router control)
Hi Shawn,
Just found there is also an HTML dashboard component - thought this might also be worth exploring
Not aware of this as a current possibility, but DM provides a log-in landing screen where perhaps data feeds could be embedded as part of a bespoke solution – adding a screenshot later
