Do I need the desktop version of Visio to create dashboards, or is the web version enough?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to know if it’s necessary to use the desktop version of Visio to develop dashboards, or if the web version (Visio for Microsoft 365) is sufficient.

I tried using the web version but couldn’t get it to work as expected. Has anyone successfully created dashboards using only the web version? If so, could you share how you did it?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Erlandeson,

When we talk about dashboards in DataMiner, we usually refer to the Dashboards app | DataMiner Docs. This offers a wide range of capabilities and is being actively expanded, especially compared to the Visual Overview features.

If you’re referring to creating a dashboard-like visualization in a Visual Overview using Visio, this question has already been discussed here: VISIO Version - DataMiner Dojo. In short, yes, this should be perfectly fine.

Kind Regards,

Jarno
