When upgrading a DMA I have the option to select one of the available packages. But after selecting one, I can’t execute an upgrade/downgrade. What’s the purpose of this section?

Hi Jens,

The idea was back then:
– have an overview of what packages have been installed, order by descending (+)
– Possibility to do restores or to switch DM version (-)
– Possibility to upload a package only and upgrade it afterwards like the next day (+)

The problem with the restore feature is that the package can’t be re-used or re-triggered. However, with the overview, a user can easily upload and execute an upgrade with the correct version.

Hi Jens,

Another use case where we use the section ‘Available packages’ is when performing a DataMiner upgrade on large systems. Before to proceed with the upgrade, we first deploy the upgrade package across all the DMAs using the option Upload Only. When the maintenance window starts, we just select the uploaded package from the section ‘Available packages’ and execute the upgrade.
