Hello Team,
In my production environment I could see the spikes on Disk usage (C:\) in every day. I could see there is a pattern.
Can anyone tell me why there is a spike in the disk usage in a particular time?
That seems to be happening daily (around 1am?).
By zooming in you'll be able to see more precise around what time that is.
Then check the task scheduler if something is scheduled around that time every day or check the backup settings.
This makes me think of a daily backup or so that is being taken. It first needs to write temporary data to the disk, then forward that data (or zip first) and clean up afterwards.
Actually, In my environment, local backup configured in D: drive, also we are taking network backup too. But I could see in the backup agents also the backup is taking on C: drive(not on D: drive). Ideally the main and backup agent configuration should be same, isn’t it?
Secondly, May I know what is the purpose taking backup in backup agents? the DB should be same as main agent. Since we are already taking backup in main agents. Then why do we need backup in the backup agents. Can’t we stop backup in backup agents?
Ideally both configurations should be the same.
I don’t know the exact reason what the purpose is of having a backup of the backup, perhaps this is because both main and backup have the same settings. It’s better to post that as a new question why the backup agents take a backup or how to stop that. This way somebody else that knows the answer could more easily see this question being asked and can reply to it.
