Our total disk space for Cassandra DB is 558GB.
However, size of the folder inside of the disk shows 13.4TB, which is more than the disk capacity.
We use 2 types of software to verify the sizes of folders which is WinDirStat and treesize free. However, both shows the same result which is 13.4Tb.
Has anyone faced the same problem? How can we rectify this issue so that the folder shows the actual size.
Hi Nur,
Most likely this wrong calculation will be due to compressed files which windows is somehow reading as the full uncompressed size, instead of the compressed size.
I found a user posting a similar issue on the Microsoft forum, but they were also not able to get it resolved: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/folder-size-bigger-than-its-disk-space/6a513c64-7779-4a5a-845d-35bd1ebe2fd4
Kind regards,
Hi Stacey, the incorrect storage sizing got resolved after restarting Cassandra service on the machine.
