Default Severity colours – are these still the same across all versions?

Hi Dojo,

Was there any recent change (e.g. perhaps within feature releases?) to the yellow colour used by default for major severity?

I've come across a recent system (10.x range) where the "major" colour seems to be closer to the amber normally used for timeouts - hence the question:
by default, is "major" still defined as "255, 255, 0" in DataMiner.xml?

As shown in the above example, the colour resulting in the internal environment is easily confused with timeouts when looking at distant screens (e.g. videowall in the NOC)  - wondering if I need to check the local definitions on the servers and sync across the cluster or if this might be more related to an issue with the colour profiles of the screen used (here in the webpage the issue is contained, due to the white background, but when looking at a maximized CUBE client, it's clear that the palette is different from what it used to be).

Any steer will be helpful.
Thanks

Hi Alberto,

Please find the default alarm colors in our docs:
Changing the default alarm colors | DataMiner Docs

You'll see that from the 9.6.4 feature release (10.0 main release) some default colors were changed.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Michiel – this is the info I was looking for.
I’d suggest “major” is made brighter by default (as it used to be) – but for the time being I don’t think there would be many users asking for it, so I’ll just experiment with a different colour combination in our environment so that the major colour is not too close to timeout.
